Mead Stampede 2024
We were in Oklahoma City this past weekend as official sponsors of the 2nd Annual Mead Stampede Jamboree!
This is Mead Stampede’s fourth year of competition but the second year of hosting the Jamboree; an in person and live broadcasted (YouTube) awards ceremony for the Mead stampede competition. You can watch the ceremony here.
Look at all that mead!
279 Entries from 110 Entrants
Home mead makers from across the nation entered mead in this BJCP sanctioned event. Some very dedicated judges spent two days tasting and scoring mead. My favorite thing about this competition is the very apparent passion that the judges have for the mead craft and the pride they take in providing good and usable feedback.
If you’ve ever entered mead competitions you you know how special this is, not to mention invaluable as you strike out on your mead making journey. 2024’s competition is over but it’s never to early to start preparing for next year! You can find out more about how to enter here.
VIP Tour
We had a chance to go behind the scenes on the set of the Man Made Mead YouTube channel.
We had an awesome opportunity to visit the set of Man Made Mead’s YouTube channel. So crazy to see this in real life! We’ve been fans of the channel since before we met Garrett and had an opportunity to be featured on an episode of his podcast. You can find our episode along with his podcast/mead review channel here. For tips on mead making, find Man Made Mead’s primary channel here. I highly recommend checking them out!
Exploring the city
The Mead Stampede crew out and about in OKC
This is our second year making our way up to Oklahoma City to for Mead Stampede and I’m honestly kicking myself that I never thought to travel up that way before this. Texas is so big and we tend to go south for our road trips. Think Austin, San Antonio, and Galveston. We toured some great museums, saw some awesome art, learned about native and U.S. history and took in the nightlife. OKC is such a well rounded city, can’t wait to visit again.

Special thank you to Garrett, B.C. and Mandy and the rest of the Mead Stamped crew for having us back this year. Can’t wait to do it again! - Savannah and Bryce
